The artist behind Amor y Moda

Original artwork made for real life.

Hi, I’m Jessica—the artist, the daydreamer and the girl packing your order.

I’m a Colombian-American artist based on Long Island, New York. I create art to make you feel something—a little joy, a familiar memory, or that feeling of finding something that’s so you. With Amor y Moda, I want you to look a little closer, notice the details and find your own connection to what I’ve drawn.

Before the stickers, there was a little girl who loved to draw.

My love for art started on the floor, surrounded by paper and all the colors my dad would lay out for me. He would let me draw for hours, giving me the space to imagine and create. I didn’t wonder whether I was good enough back then. I just loved it.

As a teenager, I drew less, even though that love never really went away. When I came back to drawing as an adult, I rediscovered something that had always been a part of me.

But giving myself credit didn’t come as easily. I wasn’t drawing lifelike portraits or painting enormous canvases, and somewhere along the way, I had decided that was what made someone a “real artist.” I loved creating, but I struggled to see my own drawings as anything special.

The more I drew for friends and family, the more that began to change. Their reactions helped me see something in my work that I hadn’t been able to see for myself. Something worth sharing.

Ten stickers, and a little courage.

My dad had been encouraging me for a long time to put my art on a product and sell it. Eventually, I took the leap and made my first ten stickers.

I’ll never forget the moment my first customer picked one up and asked, “How much?” I was stunned. Someone wanted to pay for something I had drawn. That little moment meant more to me than they could have known.

Those first ten stickers sold within a week, and one idea soon led to another. What began with a small leap of faith grew into Amor y Moda.

Since then, I’ve been learning to appreciate my art for what it is: personal, full of little details and unmistakably mine. It doesn’t have to be realistic or fill a huge canvas to mean something. Knowing that something I draw can make another person smile, feel connected or find a little beauty in their day is something I’m proud of.

A little piece of my world, made for yours

Some ideas begin on paper. Others take shape on my iPad. I love putting little details into my drawings—the kind you might miss at first, then notice the next time you look. A little softness, a little attitude, and something that stays with you.

Turning those drawings into something you can actually wear or carry is my favorite part. A sweatshirt for a slow Sunday. A tote that goes everywhere with you. A little sticker that makes something ordinary feel like yours. I want these pieces to feel personal, become familiar and stay in your rotation.

Every finished piece starts with a drawing.

Drawn by me. Sent with love.

Behind every order is me—creating the artwork, preparing your pieces, adding the tags and packing everything up. What I love most is that my art gets to find new homes and be appreciated beyond my own little world. Something I spent time imagining and drawing becomes something someone else chooses to keep. That still means so much to me.

Your idea deserves a little attention, too.

I also work on custom pieces for individuals, groups and school communities. You can bring your own artwork or ask me to create a design with you. We’ll work through the details by email, and you’ll approve your design before I print.

Thank you for making room for a little piece of my creativity in your life. Every order helps me keep drawing, keep creating and keep building something that feels like me. I hope what you find here feels like you, too.
